BILL STARKE

    

Bill Starke is a Colorado artist whose extensive anatomical education from Zahourek Systems plays a vital role in the development of his work and choice of subject matter. His ability to understand and recreate the complexity of figures, commonly relating to the human condition, is haunting. His other significant mentors are the artist, Ned Jacob and MSU printmaking instructor, Jim Westergard.

Starke’s artwork has been exhibited in multiple exhibitions throughout Colorado including the Denver Art Museum, Denver Museum of Nature & Science, the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, and notably Salon d’Arts where he was selected as Art & Antiques Magazine Emerging Artist of the Year. His sculpture, Trojan Horse III was awarded the Pietro Montana Memorial Award for Sculpture at the 85th Annual Exhibition of the National Sculpture Society in New York City.

Starke sculpture is represented by prestigious galleries nationwide— worldwide in private collections in twenty-five countries on five continents. Indonesia and India being the latest additions to the list spanning the globe.
